Barbra Johnston - Chairperson

Barbra is a West Kelowna resident, a former CFDCCO client and strong advocate of the organization. Barbra is the Founder of Nature's Formulae Health Products Ltd, a nutraceutical manufacturing business that now employs 75 people in Kelowna and sells their product worldwide. Barbra has served as a Director and on the Loans and Investment Review Committee for CFDCCO from 2002 – 2015 and as Chairperson from 2008-2015. Barbra rejoined the Board as Chairperson and the Loan Committee in 2016.

Eva Weston - Vice Chairperson

Eva is a dynamic business and economic development professional at the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission. Eva possesses a strong background in community economic development, project management, media relations and data analysis. Her post secondary education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from Okanagan College with certificates in Project Management from UBC and Community Economic Development from University of Waterloo. This education is coupled with powerful interpersonal and project management skills enhanced by her group oriented attitude. Eva excels as an CFDCCO Entrepreneurship Committee member since 2021, was elected to the Board of Directors as Vice Chairperson in August of 2024 and will be a valuable contributor to the Board of Directors for years to come.

Laura Hetherington - Treasurer

Educator, facilitator, mother and outdoor adventurist. Laura is a CPA, Professor of Business at Okanagan College and former accountant at MNP LLP where she continues to provide new accountant training. She has a long history of supporting the non profit sector as an accountant, fund developer, volunteer and director. Laura grew in a family of entrepreneurs with business interests primarily in the food and hospitality sector. Laura first joined the CFDCCO Loan Committee in 2015 and brings strong treasury and financial skills to the Board of Directors.

Una Kuzio - Corporate Secretary

Una is a Lawyer and partner at Touchstone Law Group LLP and has been practicing law in Kelowna since April of 2008. In 2012, Una founded Touchstone Law Group LLP in Kelowna. This venture has grown quickly and has provided Una with an opportunity to combine her law practice and the business side of the legal industry. Una focuses primarily on business law, real estate, wills and estates. She enjoys working closely with clients and referral sources on both their personal and business related matters and also enjoys working with both first time homebuyers, new business start-ups in addition to well established businesses in the Okanagan. We are happy that Una has rejoined the CFDCCO Board in 2022 following a year off from our organization. Una is valuable member of the Loan Review Committee.

Katie Bransfield - Director

Katie is a Branch and Regional Manager at Beem Savings Credit Union and has worked within the Credit Union system for over 20 years. Most of that time she has been with Interior Savings Credit Union and held many different roles from Personal Account Manager, Mortgage Underwriter and Employee Development Consultant.  Katie helps the team at Beem’s KLO branch deliver the very best service, products and advice to their membership as well as being a Regional Manager of 6 branches across the Province. Katie is an active member of the CFDCCO Entrepreneurship committee and was born and raised in the Okanagan. Katie has a strong connection with our community and is enjoys everything it has to offer while her and her husband raise their 2 boys.

Krista Mallory - Director

Krista is a West Kelowna resident and has been an active CFDCCO Entrepreneurship Committee Member since 2012 and Loan Committee member since 2016. Krista was formerly employed by the Women’s Enterprise Centre as a Loans Analyst and in 2016 she began work as a Business Development Officer for the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission and is now the Manager of Economic Development. Krista comes from of family of entrepreneurs and is a dynamic and resourceful associate with full knowledge of the CFDCCO that strengthens the CFDCCO’s economic and business development capacity.

Jamie McEwan - Director

Jamie has a strong background in planning, economic/community development and local government leadership. He is Principal and Lead Advisor with Broadwater Governance & Strategy, the Chair and Instructor of Local Government Programs at Capilano College after many years at the District of Lake Country Planning Department. His Passion Project is called Place+Setting, where he travels throughout Canada and the globe to tell stories about the connections between places and food. Jamie is an active member of the Entrepreneurship Committee, loves to read lots of business plans and always has well thought out comments and suggestions. Jamie has been an active CFDCCO Member since 2016.

Ched Gaglardi - Honorary Member

Ched is a successful Lake Country technology based company founder and CEO. As one of the founders of Beelineweb.com, his cordial, down-to-earth approach to business helps set the tone for the office. His accomplished background in finance, marketing, and other successful ventures ensures our ability to create and maintain tremendous value for our organization and our clients. Ched stays involved in the community, volunteering his time and knowledge to promote local economic development. His steady temperament inspires trust and confidence, no matter the circumstances. And with his optimistic and jovial demeanor, it's no wonder he has a reputation for making friends everywhere he goes. Ched recently retired from the Board after 9 years of dedicated service and was awarded Honorary Member of the CFDCCO at the 2024 AGM held on August 28, 2024 at Okanagan Table. Thanks Ched!
